Got a run in at Wellman on Saturday morning, July 10th. The road had just been calciumed and it had rained in the night. It was a bit slippery in places. Running shoes got mucked up a bit. After the run (from the Wellman Lake sign to the newly constructed gravel parking lot at the road into Black Beavr Lake is 2 miles), I went for a swim at 8a.m. That cooled the legs down in a hurry. I swam across Glad Lake and back (not the long way down Glad; just accross).
Talked to Angela and Lance on Monday morning. They ran from the Arena; I just arrived as they finished as I was on my way to the pool. Kevin Warkentine is running - seen him on the go. Rob is running solo in the wee hours of the morning. Barnes is running ad checking in at the arena. Tracy is running - seen her and a partner the other day.
Tuesday the 13th - swam at 1/4 to 7a.m. and then got a run in at 11:30a.m. Went around the old by-pass. Did 9 minute miles. That seems to be my comfortable spot now. I can very comfortably run at 10 minute miles but when I put a bit more into it I run at 9's. Anything faster than that and I'd have to do some major training - like hills, intervals, tempos - suff like that. I think I'm into more enjoyment and 9's at this point.
Got a call from Keith Immerkar this morning. He and Heather Hart have been talking about a cross country run between thier two homes. The route would constitute a couple Roaring River crossings and down country roads. The distance would be just under 10k. Keith was wondering if people would be intereseted in that and what would be the best time - like sometime in August? Keith said soemthing could very easily be worked out on car transportation back to the start. So what do you think? Would you be interested in something like that? I think it would be fun. Leave a comment on the blog if you would be interested or give Keith or Heather call or e-mail. Also, what date in August would be a good one. If there is enough interest, then further plans can be made. Thanks in advance for giving your opinion on this.
Middle of July now and it's great running in shorts and t-shirt. Remember in February all the precautions (clothing) we need to make. This is the best right now. Don't forget the Rodeo Fun Run on July 30th at 7a.m. We'd very much like to see 50 contestants this year, so come on out and start the rodeo off with a leg and cardio workout, then a shower, then the parade.
Keep give'n'er

Was at Clear Lake on the weekend. Manage to get a few runs in there.
Ran this morning, hoping the rain would hold off and it did.
That cross country run is a great idea.
