NOVEMBER 16th, 2010 tuesday

Jolie Verbo, December 4th, 2008. I met Jolie running this morning, November 16th, 2010 at 1/4 to 6a.m. I think she was running with Donna Kopecky - on 4th Ave. South. Seen Lance and Pat this morning as well. Jolie's picture of December 4th in 2008 is a reminder of December 4th in 2010. A 5k blast off from the Westwood and return to the Westwood for a hot breakfast. Come on out and enjoy. Frank makes an excellent breakfast. And, you'll catch the news first hand of our next planned run. And not only that....... you'll get a great run in before breakfast on Saturday morning, Dec. 4th. We start the run at 9a.m. & we'll have a smorg breakfast stating at 10.a.m. Just remember to bing cash for the breakfast.

This morning the run was very good. I was anticipating poor footing with the ice and the fresh snow but.......... I was pleasantly surprised. The 1 1/2 inches of fresh snow (a bit damp) was excellent to run in. It made it feel cushiony like a brand new pair of runners. there was absoluletly no slippage. I think because the snow was damp enough to bind to the ice when your runner hit and compressed. It wasn't dry snow which I think would slip back on the ice. Anyway, whatever the reason or condition - it was excellent footing.

Keep give'n 'er out there. I think we're into winter now with this ice and snow business. Oh well, that's the way she goes here in Canada - 1/2h way up Manitoba.
Don't let winter stop you from running. It doesn't have to.

i too had an excellent run but i was slightly overdressed. i had used ice cleats last friday, but took them off for this morning - the footing was good. i saw lots of footprints and finally ran behind someone on highway 10 - i think it was Lance. it is empowering to run in winter conditions - if you can do that at 6 am you can do a lot of other things today !!!

That was me Tracey, I had to retie my shoe and saw you coming, although I wasnt really sure who it was at the time. I was following a set of tracks in the snow as well and they left a perfect imprint of the tread in the snow. I think they were Pats'....
Great morning, looks like we may be in for a little cooler one come Thursday though.
