Saturday the 20th of November, 2010

I went for a run this morning and it was -28*C at 1/4 to 8a.m. I had to go outside to feed the birds anyway and I thought I might as well put on my running clothes just in case.

So, I filled the bird feeder up with sunflower seeds and peanuts (we get mostly chikadees and blue jays). And then started out for a run. I went up around by Minishs' and then down into the Legion Park, around The Jack Brown, up 7th Ave. N., Arena and Ag Path to home. The run was 36 minutes.

Out on the PTH #10 heading Noth, I had to pull up my neck tube up over my mouth and nose, otherwise, I'm sure I would have froze my cheeks and nose as I was facing into the wind. With the tube up, I was comfortable again. Everything gets steamed up and frosted but it doesn't bother the breathing at all.

I had a good baselayer (upper and lower) on called Polarmax. Then running pants, a long sleeve T-shirt, a 100% polyester upper shell, a double nit toque and neck tube, double knit stretchy socks.

The only things I didn't have on that I'll add the next time out at -28*C or more will be an athelets support (it does get a little cold down there) and some duct tape over the mesh of my running shoes.

Have a good one,
dress up warm now and........
Keep give 'en 'er,
GK
