Run a couple times on the week-end. Saturday at 11a.m. and then Sunday at 9a.m. On Saturday, I did the Poplar Avenue/Industrial Park run. As I was going down PTH #83, I could smell smoke; fire trucks were at the Crestview Courts by Heyes School. A pretty big fire. Sunday, I did a cirucuit in Swan River Drive and linked up the two parks - Rotary and Legion.
We made it to spring now. These two runs were typical of Spring I guess. A coolish breeze. Good footing this time out; the ground was frozen hard, lots of bare asphalt. You can smell the lagoon now. Shed a few clothes from the winter runs. Not in shorts and t-shirt yet; but it's coming.
I have to make up my mind soon about the 1/2. If I'm going to do it, I'd better get going on the training. I keep procrastinating. All the running magazines say to make the committment early. Register early and not "later sometime". I know that's the way to go but........ I don't know what holds a person back. It's so final once you register and pay the money. Maybe when hockey is over. Only 4 more outings of that and then the "Bubba-Cup" on March 31st - then it's over (go blacks go). With hockey finishing up, there is really a big cut back in exercising. The timing is perfect to pick up the running. Time to train for the 1/2. Time to get out there. No more cold weather. Lots of daylight. New runners. Start slow and easy. No injuries.
Have a good week,
Keep give'n'er,
gk
