Hey - good morning. It's Tuesday the 31st. Last day of August. It poured rain last night. My glass had 20 mm (.8"). I went for a run at 7a.m. It was still raining but not bad. I wore shorts a cotton t-shirt and a shell and a ball cap. I was very comfortable; it was 14*C. I ran on some of the new asphalt that the RM of Swan River laid down. I went out the Golf Course road to the 90* corner, then North on "New Aspalt" to the the ditch road at the hydro substation; ditch road East to Barne's street and then South on "New Asphalt" again to the Ditch Road. The new aspalt was beautiful. As a runner - there is absolutely nothing bad about asphalt. The rain bought up lots of earth worms on he new asphalt. Took me 55 minutes to get back to my doorstep. I don't know what the distance is yet. But ya, nice to have new asphalt to run on. Variety is the spice of life. Keeps you interested right!
My computer crashed and it's a motherboard/harddrive problem which actually means a new computer. So, I'm buying and the computer store is in the process of loading programs. Right now, I'm on a computer at the Library.
A great cross country run last Wednesday the 25th of August. From Keith's to Heather's. Peter and Keith ran about 6:45 minute miles. They were 20 hydro poles ahead of the rest of us. We (the rest of us) ran around the 10 minute mile pace. Big difference eh? But anyway - we all made it in. It was a beautifull sunny evening. I don't have an official count but about 24 runners I'm thinking? It was good. We should have more of them.
September tomorrow. That brings up Terry Fox. We'll keep that one in mind. Will have to talk to Jimmy Webster and see what's up this year.
Keep give'n'er,
gk

i have been thinking about that new ashphalt too - will have to check it out. i really enjoyed the country fun run. it's good to get together with other runners as i usually run solo - which is fine too. i ran by the arena this morning around 5:30 am and it looked like Lance's truck - he must have been gone already - if we keep it up, we'll soon be running with Rob!
have a good day.
