Ran about 6k Tuesday morning; started at 10 to 6a.m. from the Arena.
Seen the "boot camp people" on the Arena asphalt parking lot and later on the grandstand steps. Barnes was out. Rob McDonald was out. These were just the people I seen, I'm sure in these beautiful warm summer mornings there were many more of us out there.
We are good to go for the 10k cross country from Keith Immerkar's to Heather Hart's. It's Wednesday evening starting at 7p.m. at Keith's place, August 25th.Mark that date on your calender and we'll see you there.
Keith's place: You know where that is? Go East of Swan on PTH # 10 to the first big "S-curve". Do the first part of the "s" and then turn onto the grid road #156W and head North. If you have gone by Lawrence Eisner's Auction corner, you've gone too far. Turn around and go North on the municipal road. Go by Andy Maxwell's driveway - don't turn in there. Keith's driveway is on the right (East side) and he's the last one before you get to the intersection of #156W & 214N. There is a black sign that says Immerkar Farms at the start of their lane.
And then we run from there to Heather's (with some directions from Keith before we head out). If you want water, maybe bring a bottle for yourself. There will be a shuttle service from Heather's back to Keith's where our vehicles will be parked.
It will be a great run thru Manitoba prairie fields of wheat, canola and other crops turning ripe for harvest. We also cross the Roaring River twice and get some hill work in while we're at it. It will be much more scenic than your treadmill in your basement in February. It will be the real thing; let it fill your senses. You won't need a music insert gizmo in your ear. You will be able to feel the breezes on your face and take in all the smells and sounds of August. Right here in "real time", in the Swan River Valley. We may even see a little wild life!??!! Or big wild life!!
Keep give'n'er,
gk

Hi,
I will be in Swan River that week and plan to run in the cross country. Is there a registration or just show up? Looking forward to it.
