THURSDAY, the 14th of JANUARY 2010

Tracy Coulthart was out there this morning running. I think the only one of us? I could be wrong about that as I wasn't out. I did go for a run at noon hour today. Did the Poplar Avenue run. There was a mixed bag of street conditions. Some places were excellent footing as the grader had been thru. Other spots still had the mulchy snow, sand, salt, loose stuff that is very hard to run in. It reminds me of cross country skiing when you have no wax under your feet for "kick" and every step or thrust you make, you slide back. It's hard going.

A nice day for a run tho. At noon it was probably about -10*C, somewhere in there. And calm and sunny. I was in at 36 minutes. I'm glad I got the run in as I missed Monday and Wednesday noon hour hockey this week as well. Friday tomorrow and I hope to make noon hour hockey and get at least one blast in this week.

We have thrown up Sunday, February the 7th as a date for a "Mid-winter Bla Run". So keep that date open if you can. An opportunity to get together and run in daylight and sort of a middle of the winter statement. If the weather is stormy, we won't go. Lance is going to plot out a 4k and an 8k loop for us and we can have a choice then. The 4k loop will take about 25 minutes and the 8k will take 50 minutes (that's an easy pace). I checked with Dalt and he says there is a minor hockey tournament on that week-end so we can use the rink after the run, not a problem. So that's nice; we can buy a hot chocolate at the consession in the rink after the run.

Are you into Snowboarding or skiing? Fernie, B.C. has got it. Whistler would dearly like to have this kind of snow right now. This particular run we are on in this photo is called Cascade. Ubelievable!!!! You see that stop sign in the photo? That means don't go up there.
