-17*C and calm. Not bad. 1/4 to 6a.m. did the Reich Road/Swan River Drive Loop, 5.6km (3.47 miles).
John Stanton from Running Room says: " Running outdoors in the winter burns up to 12% more calories and 32% more fat than doing the same run indoors. We burn caloiries to maintain core body temperature as well as to run."
I wore ice cleats this morning and they are really good. They allow you to run surefooted. Stanton has a warning of indoor tracks. "Be careful of the tight turns on some of the smaller indoor tracks. Added stress is placed on our lower legs when we run the turns."
We don't have the indoor track problem yet. Maybe,it's a problem we hope to have soon. Often, indoor tracts switch directions on different days.
That's it for me this week. Off to PlaP on Thusday.
Keep give'n'er,

Hey Garry, glad to hear your holding down the fort.....I swear its been like 3 weeks that I've been fighting this head/chest cold. I've been on the treadmill a few times, the mornings aways seem to be the worst with the head and chest congestion.
I plan on coming out again next week, maybe even this thursday.
