Very nice morning this morning. It is daylight at 5:30a.m. What a treat. It is not black and streetlights. It is a long winter and takes a long time to get back to the daylight hours. Boy they are nice. And right now at 5:30a.m. there are robins and other birds signing like mad. This morning I did the 4 mile loop - South on 9th to Reich's road, back up to Minishville and back to the Arena. When I got back to the Arena at 6:15a.m., the Boot Camp people were there. About 8 or 10 of them in a big circle doing stretches on the asphalt parking lot. Great to see.
Saturday, April 24th, I did a long run. 10 miles. I went around the new by-pass to the Water Treatment plant where I turned around and did the same route but in the opposit direction. That was hard to do the same route twice. Better to do a 10 mile loop and not have to cover the same ground. I did this run at 10:30a.m. as I needed some breakfast fuel before I went out. I had breakfast at 7a.m. Two toast, coffee, 1/2 grapefuit and a full big glass of water. I took water with me on the run as well and used both containers.
So far so good. No injuries (touch wood). Tomorrow morning I do 3 sets of 400m intervals at the Regional track. Then a 6 mile Tempo run on Thursday and a 6 mile long run on Saturday. Then we'll be into May.
Rodeo Run Friday, July 30th, 7:30a.m.
We are organizing and gearin up for it now. Derek will have a blurb in his column this week. Angela looking after registration. Nancy doing the bibs. Don and Lance doing the advertising. Garry the RCMP permit. Lance map of 5k/10k routes. Barnes ice & bottle water. David makers. Tracy poster distirubtion to contacts, Rob camera.
Keep give'n'er,
see you out there,
