I did around 7 miles this morning. The new by-pass and some streets around town and the Legion Park Pathway. Took me 70 minutes. It was supose to be a Tempo run (faster than my normal pace) however, I plodded along at slower than my normal pace. How's that? I don't know. Just didn't have it. I'm beginning to wonder when or if I'll ever get it! It sure dosen't feel like positive this morning. I weighted in at 153; a couple pounds down but still in the 50's. My target is 145 and after next week, I'll be 1/2 way in on my 10 week training for a 1/2 training schedule. Hope the next 1/2 shows some improvement (faster running).
I keep thinking weight. If I can loose that last 8 lbs or so, then I'd have a chance at a faster pace. Maybe I'm wrong. I'm finding it hard to believe in myself right now. Maybe my goal is not realistic.
I feel I'm not pushing hard enough but a good thing about that is that I'm not hurting myself. Everything is working fine. No pulled this or that.
I think too that training gets like this - sooner or later. Not all days are as upbeat as other days. The main thing is to keep going and "run thru it".
So, that's what I'll try and do. My next run is on Saturday and it's a 7 miler this time.
The training schedule also suggests to work in some cross training on the days between my 3 runs per week. Swimming or biking. Swimming starts on the first of June at the Kinsmen Pool - early bird. I'll do that; it's such a great cardio exercise and really nothing for the legs. They are happy just dragging along behind - no pounding or jaring. Biking - I should get that going right now. A trip out Pretty Valley every other day would be good. All asphalt and some good hills. A definate leg work out but different from running.
keep give'n'er,
gk

Hi Everyone,
Just finished a run. Wanted to get it in before the rain starts and lasts until Sunday.
All is good in PLaP.
