Ran this morning at 1/4 to 6a.m. Seen Angela out running too this morning. She's getting ready for that Texas run. Looks like a nice day coming up right here in Swan River, Manitoba.
It is a bit of a "pick-me-up" to run in a new place. Last week I was in Ottawa and I run in the mornings there too, before breakfast. A nice city to run in. Lots of asphalt trails, lots of runners. The City has a lot of green spaces, rivers and canals. They have a big Marathon on May 30th in the City. A lot of runners out training for that. We stayed at a b&b and there were other guests there as well. Some guests were runners from Vermont and New York. They were in Ottawa to run the Marathon course and get familiar with it before the race. I can appreciate that as every time I went out for a run, I did a different course and not by choice, I'd just get all mixed up and lost. I would have to ask people directions. I'd start out good but eventually get all buggered up. There are so many bridges and rivers and canals. The last day, I wanted to do a long run as it was my last outing in Ottawa. And, I sure did get a long one in. I must have run 12 or 14 miles. I ran for over two hours. I was sore and stiff the next day. I asked one guy, "How do I get to Banks Street?" I new that street once I got there. He said, "It's just 2 and 1/2 miles down this street. Just keep going, you'll make it." I must have dropped my mouth when he said 21/2 miles. I was ready to pack it in. I new when I got to Bank Street that I still had a long way to go to my B&B. Karen was waiting for me for breakfast and I was running late. When I finally got to Bank Street, I didn't know which way to run on it. I had to ask again which way was toward uptown. Running lost is something. When you finally find something familiar it's like, "wow, I made it".
Any how, a great City to visit. Nice and clean and green.
Keep give'n'er,
see you out there,

Just back from my run to the bridge. I run along side the kids while they bike to school. I lock up their bikes for them and continue on. Its a good way to fit it in and they get to bike. Mailed Erin's form for the Super Run yesterday (MB marathon). She's good to go. New running shoes, signed up, now if I could only get her out to run!! Of course she is running like a maniac in soccer for an hour 2X/week, so I guess that's training for an 8 year old.
