MAY the 27th, 2010

Sunshine this morning. Different. I think this is our a day of sunshine before the next low system comes up from the States. Looks like the week-end is more cloud and rain for us. But it was real nice this morning. Calm. I was a bit over dressed but still comfortable. One thing about overdressed, by the end of the run the leg muscels are hot and easily stretched. And, it's good training for hot weather running too.

I did the 9th Ave. South,Reich's,Minsih's route this morning. Angela headed out West on 2nd St. North and Lance was already out on the course somewhere. I never seen any other runners while on my route this morning. Were you out???????

I think the pool opens up sometime next week. There is lap swimming early in the morning (7a.m ish) and then some at noon hours. Check the Star & Times.

Don't forget biking. It is a very good cross trainer too. And it's easy to log time on a bike outside. Like 30 minutes on a bike, outside, moving, is much easier (for me) than 30 minutes on a stationary bike downstairs. Even a strong head wind is good resistance for the legs. As we don't have too many hills in our area, we can take advantage of the wind. Go against it on the way out and have an easy tailwind coming back home.

And the "boot camps" - very popular these days.

They all add up.

Keep give'n'er, summer is right here. On or around June 21st is the longest day. Up North there will be 24 hours of daylight. The Swan Valley will have more daylight than Winnipeg, Toronto, Ottawa or Montreal. I remember pitching a tent up by Cormorant Lake (The Pas area) at midnight and there was still enough light in the tent to see, you didn't need a flash light. Fantastic eh?

Ran this morning. Rain, started to sprinkle down. Looks like a grey weekend. We had a beautiful evening last night. Sounds like what you had this morning. Cest La Vie.

I did the poplar ave route this morning - I got a little earlier start, about 5:20 or so. Saw quite a few people out this am, a couple of walking groups and before I turned on to poplar there was someone off in the distance towards the new bypass. It was nice, I dressed a little light but it turned out perfect.
