Septebmer 27th, 2010

Last week in September. Seems to be going out in style, wheaterwise that is. Beautiful day yesterday - Sunday. I ran the new by-pass at a pretty comfortbable pace. Took me 63 minutes. I went out PTH 83 against a pretty stiff wind; and then around to Ross Street where I met the wind again. The distance must have been close to 10k from door step to door step. I started running at 25 after 10a.m. The temp was in the high twenties. I ran is a t-shirt and shorts. I didn't think I'd be running in shorts again but I was wrong.

I've used those compression socks now for the last 6 runs. I like them. Runners were among the first sportspeople to use compression socks. The idea behind the sports side of the phenomenon is threefold - support, improved bloodflow and the aiding of recovery. Runners definately subject the legs to impacts. There is an article in Runners Times on compression socks. You can pick it up in google. According to the article the biggest advantage is in the recovery and they encourage a runner to keep wearing the socks after the run to get max. recovery benifits.

No run today. Rest day. Tomorrow morning (Tuesday the 28th), from the rink at 5:45a.m.

Keep give n er,
gk
