Did a double parks run again this morning. 36 minutes. Start 9:00a.m. Sunny and clear blue sky. -5*C. Dry footing.
Toque, gloves, a long sleeve t-shirt with a short sleeve over top, then a shell. For bottoms, I had 100% nylon shell, pace setter sportswear - loose fitting.
So, not quite into the heavey duty dressing. The above should be good for a few more degrees below yet. I'm thinking about it will be ok til -12 or -14*C.
The colder temps is a good reason to dress more but also the wind is a tough one to battle. That's why the Rotary Trails in the bush and the Legion Park trails are attractive to run in as they provide some protection or relief from the wind. Even just running in Town where there is more structure to break the wind. To run the By-passes in the winter time - a person should pick and choose calm days.
Keep give'nér,
