Thursday the 7th of October

I slept in this morning. Woke up at 4:30a.m. and that was too early. Then rewoke up at 1/4 to 6.m. and that was too late for the 5:30a.m. run or the 1/4 to 6a.m. run and so I decided to make it a 1/4 to 7a.m. run. The stars were out in full force when I took off and when I got back in the sky was a "morning blue haze" and the stars were all gone.

I did the Poplar Avenue Loop this morning. Out 83 and back in thru the Industrial Park plus a loop down thru the Legion Park.

I had a much better run this morning that tuesdays. Yesterday (Wednesday the 6th) I took off - no running. I think that helped out both physically and mentaly.

Never seen anybody this morning but then again, I was on a much later shcedule. It's nice to be retired and not have to worry about changing a running schedule.

However, retired or not, it's good to get a minimum of two runs per week in. Keep Tuesdays and Thursdays open for that. Just schedule it and it's done. It's the only way, we have to fix a schedule and work it in. It's really not that hard. Busy people all across Canada do it. They just do it; they work it in. We feel better; it's for our "WELLNESS" (a bit of a buz word these days).

Here are some (the tip of the iceburg) excuses we use so we don't have to exercise:

I'm too busy at work..........
The kids are into this or that and.....
It's just crazy this week, hockey, birthday, company...
We're away next week so..........
It's so dark in the morning........
I'm not really into cold and .......
I should start, maybe next week....
I'm exhausted after supper, I just want to relax.........
I've got a bad big toe, it's been bugging me...........

Next run from the arena is Tuesday the 12th of October. And then the next one is Thursday the 14th of October. Time flys by when you're having fun. See you there at the arena at 7a.m. (for you first timers) on Tuesday the 12th - an easy run/walk loop for one half hour. Eh?

Keep give'nér,
gk

Vegas and I were at the bridge looking for you. Nice morning, except really dark until we hit the town lights. Lots of traffic but never seen another runner.
I was in Wpg. on the weekend so I did the treadmill thing at the hotel a couple of mornings. It was really nice to get outside again.
see you next week.

There are endless excuses, arent there?? Sometimes it would be so easy just to stay home, but I'm always glad to be out there once your into your run. Beautiful this morning, I was looking at the stars also out in the dark on Poplar ave, nice and clear. I didnt cross paths with anyone this morning - but I dont think I've seen anymore vehicle traffic than I did today, it sure seemed like there was alot.

Have a good one,

Lance
